The fruits and vegetables at the supermarket may look inviting and fresh but that may only be part of the story. The best strategy is to assume that all kinds of pesticides, little insects and dirt lie hidden on the surface and that will probably be the correct assumption. Once the produce is safe in the kitchen it is a good idea to wash the fruits and vegetables with a solution called the organic wash. Using just plain tap water will clean them fairly well but it is a good idea to add some acid from natural sources. This will add some powerful disinfecting properties using vinegar and lemon. The organic wash that will result will do a great job in cleaning the fruits and vegetables safely and inexpensively.
